DEADLINE – Application due December 10, 2024
The Texas Association of City & County Health Officials (TACCHO) invites representatives of Local Health Departments and Regional Health Departments to submit abstracts for oral presentations and/or posters at the TACCHO 2025 Public Health Conference.
The theme is “Texas Public Health: The Future Is Now!” – This year’s conference will focus on the program/policy/system change work by state, and local public health that focuses on and invests in the Future of Public Health.
Abstract/Poster submissions should relate to the theme.
Core Public Health Services (identified by the Public Health Funding and Policy Committee):
· Chronic Disease Prevention and Control
· Communicable Disease Prevention and Control
· Environmental/Regulatory Services
· Maternal and Child Health
· Injury Prevention/Control
· Infrastructure/Foundational Capabilities.
· Laboratory
· Access and Linkage to Care
· Surveillance and Epidemiology
· Preparedness, Response and Recovery
Oral Presentations will be held:
· Thursday, February 20, 2025, AM or PM
· Friday, February 21, 2025, AM
Poster Presentations – we ask that Posters be set up No Later Than 10:00 am on Thursday, February 20th, 2025, and are to be available throughout the conference.
Poster review and judging will take place at the Networking event on Thursday, Feb 20th and announced on Friday, Feb 21st at the Conference Recap.
The presentation/poster must include usable and sharable tools to assist Texas communities in potentially replicating the program, policy or study.
The Oral Presentation panel format includes:
| Type Session | 15-20 minutes presentation during a One-hour Informational Session on Thursday, Feb 20th or Friday,Feb 21st . Will share time with other presenters |
| Content of Session | Sharing of a program/policy implemented at local/regional level chosen for Health Department Sharing Session to all attendees |
| Presenter(s) | Up to 3 presenters during session |
| Audience | All Attendees of the conference |
| Objective | By the end of the session attendees will be able to state one program/policy/or study to implement in their community. |
Multiple abstracts may be submitted by the same local health department or state/regional health department.
All HD Sharing Session presenters are expected to pay the conference registration fee.
Registration Fees are:
- $275 - December 31st
- $325 - Jan 1 – Feb 5th
- $375 – Feb 6th – Feb 18th
